Peter Kors
Peter Kors is an actor, director and master teaching artist. He currently serves as Conservatory Director for Pacific Resident Theatre Youth Conservatory, and is on the artist roster of Los Angeles Opera, the Music Center Education Division, Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, and Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Peter co-founded Dell’Arte International, a school for physical theatre studies in Northern California and teaches mask, movement, and acting workshops in Los Angeles and New York City. Acting credits include, among others, performances at the Mark Taper Forum, “The West Wing,” and “Bram and Alice.”
Yiouli Archontaki
Yulie (Yiouli) Archontaki is an international artist originating from Greece. She is a physical theatre performer, actor, dancer, choreographer, musician, and architect.
After receiving a scholarship from the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, Yulie moved to the United States and completed her M.F.A. in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre.
As an actor, physical theatre performer, dancer and musician, Yulie has collaborated with the following U.S. companies: the Tony Award winning San Francisco Mime Troupe, ovation-award winning Unbound Productions and The Rogue Ensemble, Open Gate Theatre, The Intrepid Dance Project, The Actors’ Gang and Fiasco! Physical Theater. The latest project with Fiasco! Physical Theatre, ‘Death and the Fool’, directed by Erin Leigh Crites, was awarded the Encore Producers Award at the Hollywood Fringe 2019.
Her ongoing training as an actor includes: Clown with Stefan Haves (Cirque du Soleil), Buffon with the Naked Empire Buffon Company, Motion Capture with Richard Dorton, Contemporary Commedia Dell’arte with Carlos Garcia-Estevez (Manifesto Poetico). On July 2019, Yulie was part of ‘Spatial Dramaturgy & The Fourth Dimensions’, Manifesto Poetico’s latest theatre research. As a former Associate Member of the Actors’ Gang, Yulie was trained by Tim Robbins and Cynthia Ettinger in ‘The Style’, the Actor Gangs’ signature acting technique with roots in viewpoints Commedia dell’arte, Grotowski and Theatre du Soleil.
As an educator, Yulie has collaborated with Theatre of Hearts, Idyllwild Arts Academy and is the founder of the St Sophia Foundation’s Theatre Department, the first educational department for the Greek community in L.A. designed to give the necessary tools to Greek American children to learn the Greek Language through Theater.
Donna DuBain
Donna Du Bain has spent most of her life on stage. In San Francisco, she was a lead actress with the prestigious Circus theatrical family that did west coast premiere’s of many successful productions such as Tom Paine and Futz. After over 25 productions on the San Francisco stage, she moved to LA to begin her notorious career as a “serial” improvisational actor. She is a founding member of The Groundlings and then later found her Improv home with The Spolin Players. She has written comedy vignettes for television and was the director of the award winning, original play Loveable Blonde Seeking. While at the prestigious American Film Institute, she was instrumental in implementing The Academy Internship Program, The Independent Filmmaker Program and the Directing Workshop for Women. She has also produced an award winning Independent film, David Lynch presents… I Don’t Know Jack. Her love of the craft of acting and compassionate support of the artists has culminated in being a guest artist for The Virginia Avenue Project which helps “at-risk” children through creative exploring. She says her experience of working under the tutelage of Viola Spolin and the wonderful creative support of the Spolin Players has positively influenced every part of her professional and personal life. She loves Shakespeare, and will recite it at any given moment—don’t get her started.
Moses Norton
Moses Norton is a physical theatre artist, actor, director, acrobat, theater creator, and community-based arts facilitator. He graduated with an MFA in Ensemble-Based Physical Theatre from the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, completed a year of Lecoq based physical theatre training at Estudis Berty Tovias in Barcelona Spain, and studied, Acting Physicality, Clown, and Improvisation at UC Santa Cruz.
Since graduating from Dell’Arte he has co-founded and toured nationally with UpLift Physical Theatre based in San Francisco, Performed and created original content as a clown and acrobat for the LA Opera’s Pagliacci, choreographed and soloed in the LA Jazz Band Burning Ghosts’ latest music video Defiance, as well as currently freelancing as an actor, director, stunt coordinator, and fight choreographer for stage and film. He is also currently working with the critically acclaimed LA based physical theatre company Not Man Apart acting and creating in their last year’s devising project Paradise Lost: Reclaiming Destiny.
As a director Moses most recently directed Chambeando in collaboration with The Frida Kahlo Theatre and The Pasadena Community Job Center, he has also directed Physical Comedy for The Servant of Two Masters as an Adjunct instructor for Sacramento City College and this past August won the “Judged Choice Award” for his Direction of Aprender a Caer at the Stella Adler Short and Sweet Latino Theatre Festival. Furthermore Moses continues to teach workshops for and devise immersive theatrical events with his own emerging theatre troupe Fiasco Physical Theatre having recently staged Hint! A Commedia Masked Murder Mystery in collaboration with the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Moses is currently directing Historias Del Rio with Teatro Jornalero Sin Fronteras opening June 29th at The Autry Museum of The American West.
As a teaching artist Moses has worked as an Adjunct movement instructor for the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre. In Los Angeles, at The Frida Kahlo Theatre, he is moving into his third year of bilingual teaching and directing, leading physical acting and mask craft intensives. He also teaches physical theatre, games, and innovative fitnesswith Not Man Apart’s Educational outreach program. In Lynnwood he partners with the B.R.I.D.G.E. Theatre Project, facilitating intensive playwriting and acting programs collaborating with an awesome team of children, professional artists and community members. Moses also partners with the Plaza de La Raza in Lincoln Heights where, in exchange for studio space for his Company Fiasco PhysicalTheatre, he teaches mask making and physical theatre workshops to the community.
